Description

Royston Greenline is a 35 mil, cold applied butyl based coating designed to provide protection against corrosion and electrolysis on below grade metal substrates. With a strong, flexible film backing Royston Greenline provides a protective coating with high adhesion and durability that conforms well to irregular shapes.

Royston Greenline “Regular” is produced with an extended adhesive edge on one side. This unique design allows for superior layer to layer bonding when applied spirally to a pipe. Royston Greenline “Special” does not have the extended adhesive edge. Royston Greenline requires the use of a primer before application.

Recommended Use

The strong, flexible backing makes it a good coating for hand and machine wrapping. It is an appropriate for coating and reconditioning small to moderate diameter pipes, bends, tees and metal structures, as a single component coating below grade.

Substrate Compatibility

Steel, Stainless Steel, Ductile Iron, other meals, FBE, PE

Surface Preparation

SSPC SP-2 Hand Tool Cleaning, SSPC SP-3 Power Tool Cleaning or SSPC SP-6/NACE No. 3 Commercial Blast Cleaning

Primer

Royston Greenline requires a primer to allow for permanent adhesion. A 4 mil WFT of Royston Roybond 747 or Roybond 747 Aerosol should be applied and allowed to dry prior to application of the Greenline. When use of a primer is not preferred or allowed, TR Green should be considered.
